July 8th

To say this has been my first true entry in awhile is quite the understatement.  As I said in past posts it has become more difficult to find worthy content for this forum.. given the fact that I tweet all my signings in real time.  Having said that it has been an interesting few weeks.  We had a great event with Marcus Thames and Francisco Cervelli up here at our offices.  Be on the lookout for more exciting meet and greets/q&a 's here.  They have a very different atmosphere than our normal appearance...very cool.  We also had one with the great Brandon Jacobs.  Both M&G's had private signings incorporating so we were able to stock up on Cervelli, Thames and re-up on those staple, classic Jacobs pieces.  I am also proud to announce we have booked Cervelli for another appearance.  This one will be at the Steiner Store (Roosevelt Field Mall) July 21st (after the game- so probably 5:30-6:00ish).  Francisco has really endeared himself to Yankees fans over a short period of time plus we rarely have current Yanks sign in Long Island.  The combination of the two will undoubtably make this a special evening at the mall.  I have also been a part of some incredible Mets signings including RA Dickey and Howard Johnson.  The Mets are one of the hottest teams in baseball and are just a few days away from dethroning the Braves out of first place in the NL Beast.  With all that in mind today we have yet another Mets signing.  Rookie phenom Ike Davis will be doing his first public appearance this evening.  It will take place at Last Licks Rye and is sure to be a memorable one.  This guy has done nothing but deliver since being called up and am really looking forward to working with him again.  In keeping with the Mets theme legendary broadcaster (and a pretty good player- Hall Of Famer) Ralph Kiner will be at Last Licks Scarsdale Saturday.  Ralph doesn't do many publics so this is truly a great opportunity to both get an autograph and shake the hand of a true pioneer.  With the Lebron announcement coming tonight, the MLB All Star Game on Tuesday and a big Yankees homestand the following week there should be plenty to talk about on here.
See you at Ike and Kiner!

June 11th

There is a huge weekend and upcoming week on the horizon.  Not only are we doing a private signing with Derek Jeter but also have appearances with Phil Niekro, events with Francisco Cervelli and Marcus Thames plus we just added an RA Dickey and Howard Johnson signing to next Saturday's festivities.  Both the Mets and Yankees seem to be rolling so the Subway Series in the Bronx should be quite a scene.  There are great pre-signing prices for all these MLB upcoming signings so definitely be on the lookout for those.  On the other side of the coin the NBA Finals are getting more interesting by the game.  I am still feeling LA in 6 but something was just off last night (you can't allow Big Baby to do what he did)... even so #24 will come back with a vengeance and get us a much needed W on Sunday.  We are offering some great Celtics and Lakers specials on this very site so be sure to check them out.
Having said that- enjoy the day and keep following me on twitter throughout all this craziness for real-time updates and some great contests.
Peace

June 3rd

There is a lot going on right now.. to say the least. We are two Perfect Games into one baseball season (should be three - #imjustsaying) , Griffey Jr. just announced his retirement, Arod is closing in on 600 hr's, Stanley Cup Finals and NBA Finals. The prevailing theme of today, due to a botched call is, The Perfect Game. The Perfect Game is such an incredible feat. While we have a Roy Halladay signing coming up soon I have been working the PG theme for the past few weeks. After the David Cone/David Wells/Don Larsen appearance we finally have a limited number of PG Battery Mates photos back in stock. This has been one of our best sellers over the past year and is an absolute must have for any baseball collector. It is absolutely daunting that there have only been 20 in the history of Major League Baseball. That is what makes the whole Larsen mystique so incredible. We are so desensitized to him (being that Don is a friend and we work so often together) but it truly is the greatest performance in baseball history.. The guy pitched a Perfect Game in the World Series. Moral of the story is that this PG product will never go stale and as every year goes by the legend of Larsen will grow.

In the weeks to come I feel that the Arod theme will begin to pick up steam. He is within striking distance of that vaunted 600th. Be on the lookout for some great deals on our Arod staple pieces as well as new ones to be introduced as he approaches this special milestone. We already boast some of the most unique Rodriguez pieces around and our creative juices are already flowing in anticipation of 600... Stay tuned.

Having said that- there is a huge Game 1 between the Lakers and Celtics tonight. The blog faithful know of my affiliation with LA. They have been my team pre #BarMitzvah and have followed them from Magic to Vlade to Van Exel to Peeler to Shaq to Kobe to Fisher .. to Artest .. you get the idea. We offer some great Celtics and Lakers product on this very site (both vintage and current).. So be sure to look around. Bottom line is I am fired up for this series. It is the greatest rivalry in sports (sorry Yankees/Red Sox) and this gives the Lakers a shot at redemption for the pain of two years ago. I'm feeling confident and am counting the hours till tip-off.

Lakers in 6 , #24 Finals MVP.. Approaching MJ status - Redemption

Thank you and enjoy the game

May 18th

As I have been mentioning lately it is getting harder and harder to write this blog. We have the twitter thing going full force so it's way too repetitive to talk about the signings (as I have been doing that in real time for the past few months). Those of you who are following me there know of my first sampling of Eclectic Method, my misadventures Saturday in the swamps of Jersey and Taco Monday with Joba and Larsen. I didn't quite understand that format when it was first introduced to me but it is definitely starting to work. Anyway, having said that, this blog still gives me a great forum to talk about some upcoming events and some cool projects that I am in the middle of. One of our best sellers since the last game at #YankeeStadium has been the Perfect Game Battery Mates 16x20 photo. I have been hard at work completing another batch of these (as we have had Girardi, Cone, Wells, Berra and Larsen recently). Jorge Posada will be signing soon to complete this unbelievable piece. Also, with a Posada signing on the horizon combined with today’s Andy Pettite signing, we are putting together amazing Core Four items. The Jeter/Posada/Pettite/Rivera tangent has been our best seller since the Yankees won it all last year and seems like it will be strong for quite some time. Over and above the autographed items we are now also offering coasters and dirt pieces from every single Major League Baseball team. This is definitely one of the coolest initiatives we have had in quite some time (so definitely check out that page on this very site). Lastly we have been building up (and will continue to in the next few weeks) a tremendous line of inscriptions gifts- Happy Fathers Day, Congratulations and Mazel Tov inscription balls and photos.

So , #havingsaidthat, be sure to check out the rest of the site for some of these great collectibles and make sure to be following me on TWITTER for all the real-time signings updates (plus some great contests). I will be coming back at you in the next day or so with a preview of the next month of appearances.

Here are a few photos from the past few weeks of signings:

May 5th

Hello Internet,
So it has been forever since my last post. As you all know from my twitter updates the last two weeks have been a complete whirlwind. I have done twenty plus signings in the past seven days and have just completed a small one with Yankees manager Joe Girardi. Over and above that I jammed my thumb to the point of a full on blood clot infection (all in the line of duty), attended an incredible event honoring Brandon and Mara Steiner's work with Family Services of Westchester and even hit up a few shows....("strange days indeed"-Lennon). Even with the abundance of activity I still have had time to write this blog. The problem is/was - what to write about. Having said that- I have been thinking a lot lately about how my industry truly is like no other. It is so abstract and so dependent on factors beyond our control...that's what makes it so exciting. I started putting real thought into that last week when the Mets/Dodgers game was rained out. We were slated to have a private signing with Mets rookie Ike Davis the following day but, due to the rainout, a doubleheader was scheduled...thus the signing was rescheduled for this week. You can't control the weather- there have been countless times I have been scheduled to fly somewhere for a time sensitive signing and have gotten snowed in and grounded in NY or elsewhere. Then there was Saturday when Francisco Cervelli appeared at Last Licks Rye. Just as is the case with any signing after a game there is no exact time or science to the start time. The game ends and within ninety minutes the player appears. We have no control over weather, wins/losses, injuries and trades. People get traded and their items become irrelevant or they end up signing with a contender and that baseball becomes the hottest piece out there. The unpredictability and hot market aspect of this business brings an energy to our days that is unrivaled anywhere. I am typing this at well after midnight while waiting for an MLB authenticator to finish up tagging the product we just witnessed Joe Girardi sign. Why are we doing this in the early hours of this Tuesday morning? Because the game ended when it ended. If it ended up being a rain out Joe would have signed earlier and I’d be asleep but then again if it got rained out and there was a doubleheader tomorrow then my Phil Hughes signing would have to be postponed. - all factors beyond my control.. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
