Vince Carter - March 3rd

Today we did our first private signing with Vince Carter. It was the first time I had been to the Nets practice facility this season and it never gets old. It is really cool. The room where the signings take place is a conference room in between all the coach's offices. So on the way to the room you are able to pop in and say hello to head coach Lawrence Frank and coach Bill Cartwright . Coach Frank actually remembered me from my last visit here to see Jason Kidd. The signing went great thanks to the help of Arnel Sosa (one of our employees who came to assist me). It is not easy to get basketballs signed in a small space like that but we nailed it. Vince was awesome. I remember seeing him play in college for North Carolina when I was at University at Maryland. More importantly I was there when we beat his Carolina team at Cole Field House when they were ranked #1. I made sure to let him know that. Most people would want to talk NBA with Vince. After all he is having an unbelievable season having brought the Nets right back to where they were a few years ago with his almost 24 points game....but its not every day that you can talk ACC hoops with a first team All ACC player so we mostly talked college ball. Vince signed, replica jerseys, and some unbelievable photos. Vince loved the photos and actually requested a few blank ones. That was it. We packed up, loaded up the truck and headed back over the bridge towards our offices and I was on my way to my next signing....
