Today I had an appearance with Whitey Ford at our Last Licks ice cream store in Massapequa. All the athletes love the ice cream stores but none more so than Whitey. I spent half the signing holding an ice cream cone for him while he took pictures with customers. Whitey is great with the customers. He always takes the time to really talk to the fans and take pictures. Every appearance we have for him does great. Whitey was actually going down to Tampa shortly after the appearance to spend some time at spring training. He goes down every year to hang out with Yogi Berra and the current players. He was telling me that Yogi and Ron Guidry had called him a few days earlier getting on him for not being down there yet.
I'll be down in Tampa in a few weeks so maybe i'll get to catch up with my man Whitey again when i'm there.
