Saturday was our appearance at Last Licks Massapequa with Paul LoDuca and Jose Valentin. The signing was awesome. Both guys arrived to a huge line of fans chanting "Let's Go Mets!". This is a pretty special team that they are a part of. I have been around Super Bowl teams and World Series teams for a few years now and there is a certain vibe around all of them. This team is no different. Valentin has played for a long time and says that this is, by far, the most fun he has ever had playing baseball. The appearance itself went great as both players shook hands and took photos with all the fans. I never thought LoDuca would become so popular, having taken over as catcher after Mike Piazza left, but he has become a true fan favorite. We got some incredible product signed including a Jose Valentin photo of the grandslam in Chicago.
Tonight we have Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano signing at Hall of Heroes. The appearance is from 6:00-7:30 and, thankfully, it is in the mall so we can all stay dry.
