I just got home from our appearance at Last Licks in Thornwood with Knicks stars Nate Robinson, David Lee and Renaldo Balkman. I must admit that I did not know much about these guys before we booked them for this signing. My boy Anthony has been raving about D-Lee all season and I was aware that Nate won the last slam dunk contest- but that was about it. The past few weeks I have been watching the team closely and began to see how talented these players are. Lee is tearing up the league in rebounding while Nate and Renaldo are becoming huge fan favorites for the heart they show on the floor night after night. There is a really bright future for the franchise and these three have a lot to do with it. The athletes arrvived at around 3:00 and immediately began signing for the enthusiastic fans. Nate, along with most of the store, was a little pre-occupied with the Bears/Seahawks game. Robinson is from Seattle so his excitement was understandable. Once the line was finished the guys signed some items in private for us. We got some awesome new product including basketballs, jerseys and an incredible photo of Nate blocking Yao Ming.
Overall this was a great weekend. Just being around these old school and new blood Knicks these past two days has gotten me really fired up about the NBA. I am going to the Lakers/Knicks game in a few weeks (Yes, I am a Lakers fan- Derek Fisher .4 Seconds!!!) and am looking forward to seeing Clyde, Nate, D Lee and Renaldo that night.
Tomorrow I am flying out to Chicago for a private signing with the NFC Championship bound Bears quarterback Rex Grossman. Despite his ups and downs this season Rex came up huge today on the biggest stage he has been on in his young career. I am extremely pumped for this trip as Chicago must be electric right now after today's big win.
