It is now midnight here in Tampa where I have just completed our private signing with Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte. I flew in this afternoon straight from Phoenix and immediately began to set up for the signing. Andy pitched the first few innings of tonight's exhibition game and then headed over here to sign. Surprisingly enough this was the first time I have worked with Pettitte. We talked a little about the 2000 World Series (mostly Game 5- which still haunts me). He seems really excited about being back in New York. He brings winning veteran leadership to an already formidable pitching staff. We got some awesome product signed including a great action photo of Andy pitching on the road in 2001 as well as authentic jerseys and baseballs. I apologize for this not being the greatest of the blog entries. I am wiped out and jetlagged like crazy (I was going to wait and post this tomorrow but I figured I would keep it honest and do it now). In a few hours I am, finally, flying back to New York. I will be home for two and a half days before heading down to Tampa again on Sunday.
Check back for a preview of next week's signings.
