May 25th - Vinny Pastore

In my absence, Vincent Pastore came up to the office for a private signing yesterday. As you remember we ran this contest a few weeks ago where you were able to send in questions for Pastore to answer. Here is Dietz with his lil' blog entry...

Hi everyone, Dietz here with an over due blog entry. Although Eric doesn’t think I have what it takes to be a true blogmaster I am out to prove him wrong and show him the strong qualities I possess. Anyway…last month we sent an e-mail asking our customers to send in questions for Alan Houston and former star of the Sopranos Vinny Pastore. Due to scheduling conflicts the signing with Pastore was postponed until further notice, but I am happy to report we just completed the private signing with Vinny in our office yesterday. Pastore, like everyone else we have done these giveaways with, was extremely receptive to answer any questions I had for him. Vinny has quite a powerful voice and has one of the best senses of humor I’ve ever seen. The whole time I sat with him he had the entire room in stitches. His responses to the questions were very short and precise but what really made the interview great were the looks he was giving me and everyone else in the room the entire time. Just a reminder to all who participated, if your question is listed below, you have won a FREE signed 8x10 Vinny Pastore picture. Please check your e-mail boxes for an e-mail from me confirming this. Stay tuned as more giveaways are coming soon!

Q. Do you get treated as a mobster in real life (people do things for you in fear of getting "whacked"), any examples? – from Matthew B.
A. No. But I can get a table at Rao’s.

Q. I enjoyed seeing you on "Celebrity Fit Club". Congratulations on being able to get into better shape. Do you work out regularly, and healthy still now that the show is over? – from Ryan R.
A. My membership at the gym expired.

Q. Although it might seem a bit unprofessional have you ever and if so asked a cast mate or visiting star for an autograph and if so which is the most famous? – from Frank L.
A. No but I have asked athletes for their autographs before. My most famous one was right here at Steiner Sports when Duke Snider from the Brooklyn Dodgers was here the same time I was. I still have the picture of the two of us framed at home.

Q. Playing the role of a mobster in the Sopranos as well as several other movies, what was your initial reaction to your nickname "Big Pussy" and do you think that a mobster would accept that name? – from Brian D.
A. There was actually a real “Big Pussy” and a “Little Pussy.” Let’s just say I wouldn’t have played “Little Pussy.”

Q. With the Sopranos ending this season, do you have any plans to take anything home from the show, such as that singing Bass Fish? – from Joseph S.
A. I took home the cigar humidor they gave me on the last show I did. That was it.
