July 26th- Steve Nash
Yesterday I did a small private signing with NBA superstar (and Steiner Sports Exclusive) Steve Nash. This was the third signing I have done with the Nash over the past year and it went great (just like the other two!) We did the signing in Manhattan so I brought some help as it is always difficult to load and unload product in the city. Every intern in my office volunteered to help out with this one. I let them fight it out and eventually JL won a spot assisting with Nash signing. Between him and BF we knocked it out in no time. Nash has become an incredibly fast signer so it only took about a half hour for him to sign all the basketballs, photos and jerseys. Over the course of the signing we talked a little NBA and baseball. I wanted to know his feelings about my boy DJ Strawberry getting drafted by the Suns. I think he could really help DJ develop into a solid NBA player. Anyway, once the signing was over Nash was nice enough to take photos with everyone that helped. What struck me the most about this signing was how excited the intern was to meet Nash (really how all of them wanted to go so bad). I am definitely desensitized to my experiences at this point but it was pretty cool to see how enthusiastic he was about being there. When he arrived back at our office JL described the experience to his jealous peers as "amazing". While it was an odd choice of adjective to use it was still pretty awesome for the kid.
We have a lot going on in the next few days including a Bobby Murcer appearance and a trip down to Orlando keep checking back daily for updates.
