September 19th- Mike Golic
So I guess this is the first part of my 9/17-9/19 trilogy (I considered doing it out of order like Tarantino but I would probably even confuse myself). My trek actually began on the 16th (Sunday). After the Mets and Giants both lost their afternoon games (real surprise there) I got a ride over to our office where I had a van packed and ready to go. I was heading up to Bristol (Home of ESPN..that saying is plastered on every street up there) to conduct a private signing with Notre Dame and Eagles great Mike Golic. You and I are probably more familiar with Golic from his role on ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning. Anyway, I sat in the van and turned the keys and ...it wouldn't start. After ten minutes of revving it up the engine finally turned on. I went straight to a gas station to have the battery checked charged. After being reassured it was ok I hit the highway and arrived in Bristol around 6:30. Now the hotels in Bristol are not like the ones in Manhattan or any other large city. I had to bring the helmets in two boxes at a time down one level on one tiny cart. After about fifteen trips I finally was done for night. The next morning I set up for signing and awaited Golic's arrival. Mike showed up promptly at 11 and we knocked it out in no time. For the past few months I have been raving about our soon to be completed Notre Dame project. The purpose of this signing was mainly to add Golic's name to the pieces. Aside from that amazing product Mike also signed an impressive 8x10 photograph of him at ND. I really enjoyed talking to him about everything in sports. Lately I have been catching bits and pieces of his show and love his perspective on things. After Golic finished signing it took about two hours to pack up the product. Then I took those same fifteen trips out to the van to load it back up. Fortunately I was able to park it a little bit closer this time so it was semi-better. I finally arrived back at our office at around 5:00. The van was quickly unloaded and then reloaded. I was about to head back out in the van early Tuesday morning for a trip to Philadelphia to sign with Donovan McNabb.
Check back later for a recap of my Philly adventure.
