July 22nd- Paul Pierce
Last week we had our first signing with Steiner's newest exclusive Paul Pierce. As we all know by now Paul torched my Lakers in the first ever six game sweep in NBA Finals history (thank you to BH for that analogy). Sufficed to say I did not want to like Pierce...but I did. The guy actually grew up a Lakers fan in California and is one of , if not the, nicest athletes I have ever worked with. Over the course of our marathon signing we talked about the Finals, the Lakers and looked forward to next year (where hopefully we get a chance at redemption against those same Celtics). Pierce signed a plethora of amazingly strong pieces including basketballs (with the 08 Finals MVP inscription), jerseys and a few incredibly robust photos from the Finals (in both 8x10 and 16x20). A few days after that signing I headed up to Boston for a public appearance with Paul. It definitely pained me to see the hordes of Celtics fans mobbing and thanking Pierce for bringing them a title...hopefully next year that adulation will be for Kobe on the other side of the country. I did see several Boston fans wearing their Patriots gear so I could take some solace in that....Giants training camp begins today!
I know I have been extremely behind in my blogging. There has not been much going on as of late (which is the norm for this time of year) but that is about to change. Later today I will be signing with Mets stars Damion Easley and Mike Pelfrey. That is one I am pretty excited about so check back later for a recap as well as some photos from the past few weeks.
