Last week was our public appearance at Last Licks Scarsdale with Mets rookie phenom Daniel Murphy. I know it has been some time since my last post but, as you will see over the next day or so, I have been quite busy knocking out signings and running around. Anyway, Murphy has been raking since joining the Mets earlier in the summer. He has taken the NL by storm and it the veteran players seem to really feed off of his infectious energy. Dan and fellow rookie Nick Evans have played huge roles in the Mets late summer surge. These accomplishments obviously have not gone unnoticed by the fan base as there was a huge line on hand to await Murphy in Scarsdale. The kid definitely did not dissapoint. He fielded questions all night (pretty much everyone asked him if he will be playing second base come opening day at Citi Field in 2009...his answer was he just wants to hit so wherever they put him is fine with him) and took photos with every kid (and adult). Overall the appearance was an overwhelming success. It seems to me that these are the kind of players you guys want in our stores (more affordable, younger athletes...more geared towards kids than anything else)- Feel free to email me or comment at any time on players you think we should have appearing as I am very curious to see if I am right.
