November 20th- Brett Favre

To say it has been quite a while since my last post is an understatement. I know it has been close to a month but, to be honest, it has been fairly quiet. Just like all other businesses it has been a different kind of "holiday season" to this point. We have had a few appearances and some private signings but nothing that really stood out to me to talk about (there are only so many times I can write about Yogi and Larsen..not that I don't love those guys but there just isn't much more to write about them that I haven't already over the past few years). With that in mind I was kind of waiting for the right time to jump back and and re-start the blog. This week seemed liked as good a time as ever as we had the privilege of conducting a private signing with legendary Packets/Jets (how weird does that still sound?) quarterback Brett Favre.
Anyway, the signing took place at the Jets brand new practice facility in Florham Park, NJ. I have been to quiet a few practice sites and this one is one of, if not the, best around. We actually did the signing right past the end zone of a full indoor practice field (players were almost running into us while doing sprints as we were setting up). This was the first time I had met Favre. He was very cool, a little quiet (as most are with people they are first meeting)..but I did enjoy the few minutes I had to talk to him. I was actually introduced to him as "Steiner's autograph guru who had over one million autographs signed last year". I really did not think that he had even heard that yet when we shook hands for a photo Brett said to me "Over a million autographs huh?"...thought that was pretty funny.
We some spectacular product signed including Jets mini-helmets, full size helmets, jerseys and a few different images in 8x10. There is a limited amount of these pieces and, with the Jets on a roll, they are going fast. While I am far from a Jets fan I must admit this is an extremely exciting ride they are on and it has everything to do with #4.
I know this hasn't been my best written post..obviously I am a little out of practice. We do have a lot going on between now and Christmas so look for frequent blogs (hopefully every day)
Check back later for some more photos from the blog's hiatus.
