June 18th

Typically when I don't write for a while it means one of three things: 1-There isn't much going on to talk about, 2-There are techinical difficulties publishing the blog (which happens more often than one would think) and 3-We are incredibly busy with signings. This week has been a case of the latter as it has been a whirlwind of a week to this point. After the weekend trifecta of Henry Aaron, Goose Gossage and Joba Chamberlain one would assume it would remotely slow down...it hasn't one bit (those of you following me on twitter can attest to that).
Early Monday afternoon I headed to Edgewater,NJ for a private signing with Melky Cabrera. Melky has become one of the most popular and sought after autographs on this current Yankee roster and, after this signing, we now offer some unique collectibles such as hand signed replica lineupcards (from the walkoff hit game vs Philly) and dual signed Robinson Cano/Melky balls.
After leaving Melky's I headed over not one, but two bridges and braved some crazy traffic in the rain (both traffic and rain seem to be the re-occuring theme of the week) on my way to the Steiner Sports Store for our appearance with another fan favorite- Nick Swisher. Just like in Rye there was a raucous crowd anxiously awaiting Swish's arrival. The voteswisher people were back and in full force and Nick walked to the table to the sound of thunderous applause. Again just like at Last Licks Swish took photos with and got real face time with each and every one of his fans in attendance. A lot of customers even showered Nick wih gifts..normally a few people will bring something for the signer...but never like this. He walked out with minimum ten items that people brought for him (excluding a few red bulls and yoo-hoo's that I am not even including in the fifteen)...it's amazing how playing hard and bringing the energy is more important to the fanbase than putting up numbers... then again Yankee fans know better than anyone that individual gaudy stats do not equate to a team championship. All in all it was another mammoth appearance with Swisher.
Then came Tuesday and Wednesday... Tuesday morning I did a small private signing with yet another Yankee fan hero Brett Gardner. This was the second small signing I have done with Brett in as many weeks. He is one of the hottest selling players right now and that is because of some amazing inscription pieces we have been doing. This signing gave us an opporunity to re-up on our "1st in the park HR" inscription photos and balls. It happens to be one of the best moment photos we have done in quite some time and is sure to be a staple piece for the remainder of the season..if not even longer.
That brings us to yesterday where another Yankee star was up at our office for a private signing. Phil Hughes came up at about 11:20 and knocked an enormous signing in less than an hour and a half. He absolutely crushed it..I was impressed beyond belief. Aside from stocking up on some awesome pieces such as baseballs, photos and Yankee caps Phil also added his name to our recently begun Yankee seatback project. We began this on Sunday with Goose and it will undoubtably be mentioned a million times in the forurm over the ensuing months. There is no question that I will be seeing seatbacks in my sleep with the next few weeks...when all is done though it will most likely be the greatest project I have ever been involved in...later today I will be posting some photos of the signed backs on twitter (so be on the lookout)..I think as each guy signs them I will post a work-in progress image.
Anyway, enjoy what is left of this rainy day and be on the lookout for a Lakers recap post at some point in the near future (picked up my championship t-shirt last night!)
